Eliza S. Tollett is a professional ballet dancer, teacher, and the Founder and Owner of The Ballet Spot. Her method was developed based on years of ballet training, performing, teaching, and cross training. Eliza's vision is to make the fitness of a ballet dancer attainable for everyone through her approachable, accessible, and FUN classes, and to employ professional dancers who (especially right now), really need the work!

Eliza's teaching method focuses on FUN.
In Eliza's class you can expect to laugh a lot, sweat A LOT and work your bum off! She's encouraging, but tough, and enjoys pushing her students to take chances. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and you will be motivated the whole time to keep dancing and trying new things!

She loves performing with different companies to keep it fresh.
Eliza performed as a freelance ballerina in NYC before relocating to Santa Monica, where she continues to dance professionally. Some of her favorite performance experiences have been working extensively with Eglevsky Ballet and Thomas/Ortiz Dance, touring The Nutcracker with Anaheim Ballet and New York Theatre Ballet, creating new works with C. Eule and DagDag Dance, and each and every time she gets to be the part of a new piece or production.

Eliza has a LOT of teaching experience.
She started teaching ballet after graduating from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Dance as a way to supplement her professional dancing career. It wasn't just a side job though - she LOVED it. She received her Teacher Training Certification from the ABT National Training Curriculum, and taught at several schools in the greater New York area, including New England Academy of Dance and Ballet School of Stamford. She also had the opportunity to run the ballet program at Greenwich House Music School, and choreograph a full-length Cinderella production for the students.

Eliza's mission is to make adult ballet better.
Since she started teaching adults in 2014, she realized that adult ballet classes had a lot of things wrong.... She wanted to take the judgment out of the classes, and create a class that was really accessible to and exciting for adults of ALL levels, from absolute beginner, to advanced. This is how Cardio Ballet was born!
