Carlos Gonzales

Cardio Ballet
Picture
Before Ballet, Carlos danced traditional Spanish dances!
I’m originally from Madrid, Spain and I started dancing when I was 6 years old. A group of my friends from school suggested that we sign up for dance classes as an after-school activity 2 days a week. For 3 years we danced sevillanas, jotas and other traditional Spanish dances. When I was 9 years old, my mother signed me up to audition for one of the professional dance conservatories in Madrid even though I had never done ballet before. I got accepted, started ballet, and the rest is history!

The highlights of Carlos's career are dancing onstage and learning new things.
What resonates the most from my dance training is how rewarded I would always feel when I finally accomplished a step or a movement that was really difficult or one that I worked really hard on for months (or years)! From my performance career, the best moments are on stage in front of thousands of people enjoying the choreography or variation that you are dancing. Dancing in the studio is fun, but being on stage changes the game.

Carlos enjoys pushing his students to accomplish new goals!
I’m an ABT® Certified Teacher from Pre-Primary through Level 3. I’ve taught ballet for gymnastics students, for a ballet school in California and for some ABT events. As a teacher I like to make the class fun and dynamic and try to create a positive energy in the room.  Anyone can progress by working in class, and I think it’s important to remind ourselves to keep working hard to accomplish new goals.

He dreams of being the best dancer and teacher he can be.
My main goal is to build a career as a ballet dancer that I can look back at once I retire, and feel proud and accomplished. Furthermore, a dream of mine is to be able to teach ballet to the next generation of professional dancers to pass on the knowledge that I am acquiring.
